The <br> tag is used to create a line break and is analogous to a carriage return. The flow of the display of the text and any images is halted on the current line, and the flow resumes on the next line starting at the left margin.
 
There is no closing tag.

The clear attribute is used to control the flow of text around an image. The permitted values are all, left, or right. This allows you to continue the text after all left-justified images, or after all right-justified images, or after all images. This attribute is deprecated effective with version 4.0.
